Fresh fenugreek leaves made into a paste and applied on the skin in the night and washed off in the morning is very effective to prevent whiteheads from forming.
Rubbing lemon skin on the face also helps unclog the pores and this should be done twice a week. Roast some peel of pomegranate. In a grinder, grind this into a powder. Mix this powder with lemon juice and apply the paste over the whiteheads. Rinse your face with lukewarm water after 15 minutes and pat dry with a towel.
Another way to get rid of whiteheads is to beat the white of an egg till it becomes frothy. To this add one tablespoon honey and mix well. Apply this to the whiteheads with some cotton wads. Wash off after half an hour with lukewarm water.
Potatoes are known to work against whiteheads. Grate a potato and apply it to your face. This acts like a scrub and removes the whiteheads.
